Teacher Training By Rato Bangala Foundation

SMD teachers joyfully took part in Three Days Workshop on Child Centered Teaching Learning Practices – Led by Mr. Midesh and Ms. Sadikshya. Watch Video

Read our teachers’ feedback and experience from the training:

Lopen Tenzin Rinchen

” The teacher training really helped me to boost my confidence and to work in a team. Through this training, I learned to prepare a job chart and classroom agreement chart for my class in better ways. I also found out many new activities and games to conduct inside and outside the class to make the class vibrant and interesting. Similarly, I methodically learned to plan, organize and lead a field trip program.

After the training, I personally felt it is very important to learn and know all three languages; English, Tibetan, and Nepali to communicate well with students and colleagues. ”

Lopen Tenzin Rinchen, Tibetan Department Head

Mingma Tamang

” Being a newly appointed teacher here at SMD School, it was an opportunity to know and introduce myself to my fellow teachers. The three days have provided more knowledge on the progressive teaching method which will be useful in upcoming days. It has brought back many memories regarding my teaching experience and me as a student, how I was taught, and what change should be made in the modern teaching method.

The best part was that we were kept busy throughout the three-day session and different activities were conducted. We were divided into groups and provided a chance to share our views on different topics.

I am looking forward to joining more workshops where I could learn about the curriculum and develop myself as a teacher. ”

” First, I would like to thank the administration of SMD School for giving us this opportunity to attend three days of training conducted by the Rato Bangla Foundation. The training was really helpful for me. I got a chance to learn the different techniques of teaching and learning. I can apply those techniques in the classroom which will make my teaching effective. Basically, the training was actively based and we worked in groups too. Therefore, we were active during the training sessions.

Students will learn through games without knowing that they are learning if this method will be applied in the classroom. Moreover, I got a chance to interact with colleagues which was very interesting.

I hope such training will be conducted in the future too. ”
