Good news!
Five year old Kancha Mukha is coming into our boarding programme in November, along with 60 other children. They have been waiting since the start of the pandemic. Since most have had no schooling at all, they need in-person classes, but our other students have basic skills and are able to cope with online classes. Also coming back into school will be the students who missed everything because they were too far away. We will do our best to help them catch up. Our school aged monks will continue stay at SMD and the nuns will continue their classes at Thrangu Tara Abbey.
The school will be strictly quarantined. All adults will be vaccinated. To keep the children as safe as possible, we will set up hand-washing stations at every doorway, masks will be worn in the daytime, and ventilating will happen inside and outside of the dorm.
Help our new children get started and double your impact

• Our new children need uniforms, play clothes, linen, and winter quilts.
• The dorms need a fresh coat of paint.
• For COVID-19 safety: hand-washing stations at each door, masks and sanitizer.
